New FDA cigarette pack warnings

Posted on Nov 10, 2010 in Branding, Health, Product, Transportation

Wow. These are pretty hardcore. I’d like to see Ray LaHood force automakers to cover half of every car with a warning like these. (Wish I had time today to mock that up…. Just imagine for now.) Read the full article in the Times.

Things Organized Neatly

Posted on Oct 27, 2010 in Product

This is a fun blog. I love things organized neatly. And and categorically of course. Alphabetically helps too. By color is not necessary– depends on the context. Ok, back to work… (tx K!)

For $250,000 I would like to see multiple photographs please.

The New York Times just ran a review of Ferrari’s brand new 2011 Italia, and as the story goes, it is a beautiful car with a lot of show. But what gives with Ferrari not availing the grey lady and its readers of some actual photographs of the thing? Click the slideshow in the online review and you get 12 CAD renderings. Really? Renderings? My son just turned two on Sunday and I had the joy of buying him some Duplo blocks as we prepare for the world of Lego. And I noticed that Duplo and Lego no longer photograph their products for their packaging or manuals. Why should they? They can spit instructional renderings out from the same assembly files that go into their production facility for making new molds for new pieces. Seems fair. They’re a TOY COMPANY! Selling me for $16 -$100 per box. But Ferrari? I’m sorry, but renderings look like toys. And for $250,000 on the sticker, I need my reviewer– who was allowed to drive the thing and rave– to bring home some real photographic proof.
